Breast Enhancement in San Antonio, Texas (TX)

The breasts can be enhanced with breast implants. To insert them, the surgeon makes a cut either in the armpit, around the nipple, or in the crease under the breasts. An incision can also be made in the navel, but inserting implants via this route is challenging and not many surgeons are equipped to perform it.

The incision placement will be determined by you and your surgeon. Once chosen and the incision is made, the surgeon will separate the breast tissue from the muscles and connective tissue of the chest in order to create a pocket behind or in front of the muscle of the chest wall. The implant is then placed into the pocket and is centered behind the nipple.

Saline implants, when inserted, are inserted without any filler. But once the empty capsule is in place, the surgeon fills it with sterilized salt water. Silicone implants, on the other hand, are pre-filled with silicone gel.

After either the silicone or saline implant is positioned, the incision is closed with sutures and bandages—skin adhesive and surgical tape—are placed over to help prevent infection and to absorb any post-op drainage.

As part of your enhancement, you may also have a mastopexy, or breast lift. Or, you may wish to have fat transferred from one area of the body and injected into areas that you desire more fullness.
