What kind of treatment do I need? I have had the bariatric surgery, so I have weight in my lower abdomen area. I have been told by 2 Drs that they can do mini lipo, but I'm not sure that's what I really need. Could you help me please?
As always, it depends. After bariatric surgery, most commonly the problem is extra skin. For that you would need a tummy tuck to remove the skin. Liposuction does not do that. Since two people have told you lipo only, and if they are board-certified plastic surgeons who also perform tummy tuck, you may have a situation where they feel that liposuction removing the fat will allow what little extra skin there is will not hang but retract and look flat. That would be more likely in young patients with good skin elasticity and no stretch marks. It’s a judgment call. I always say that lipo will improve things to a degree, but tummy tuck will fix the problem. Happiness with either procedure depends on you.
