I have a scar across my cheek that's 4 years old. How can I get it reduced?

There are a number of methods of scar revision. Ultimately, the option chosen will depend on the unfavorable characteristic of the scar being addressed. Thickened scars can be treated with injectables (Kenalog/5fu). Raised scars can be resurfaced with lasers. Pigmented scars can be treated with IPL.

It is important to remember that a wholly unfavorable scar which is to be surgically revised will likely leave a larger (and hopefully more favorable) scar. There is always a trade-off.

As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
