Bifid, or split earlobes, can be corrected via local wedge excision and closure. This is a minor procedure that can be done in an office setting, and patients typically heal within a week. Ears can be re-pierced several months later. Patients are discouraged from wearing anything other than posts after repair.

Torn or elongated ear lobe holes are easily repaired in the office using local anesthesia. Each side takes about 20 mins to repair.
