can ears be reshaped to appear normal?

My ears are pointy and I was just wondering if this procedure will reshape the cartlidge from a point to a normal round ear.

The most common procedure to perform on ears is called an "otoplasty," which is to reduce prominent ears or ears that stick out. There are as many variations on the shape of the ear as there are people. Talk to a board-certified plastic surgeon who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Tell him or her what bothers you. There are different techniques for different anatomical parts of the ear. Your plastic surgeon can tell you what can be acheived or what cannot.

Yes, ears can be re-shaped, but shaping the cartilage. I routinely do this under a local anesthetic on adults and older children. The main drawback is that a head dressing needs to be worn about one week.
