Plastic surgery involves a wide gamut of options. Plastic surgeons operate on day old infants born with congenital birth defects to individuals well into their 90's and above for cancers, bedsores and a multitude of other reasons.

If, however, you mean "cosmetic surgery," it depends. Plastic surgeons will frequently see infants with large, protruding ears in the nursery and start treating them. Additionally, plastic surgeons will perform face-lift and eyelid cosmetic surgery on individuals into their 70's and 80's if they are in good health.

As you can see, your question has many answers. I would be more than happy to advise you if you have a specific procedure in mind. Good luck and thanks for your question.

This just depends on the type of problem and the health of the patient.

Plastic surgery, in general, is divided into cosmetic (aesthetic) and reconstructive, although there is some overlap such as otoplasties, which correct protuberant ears primarily for cosmetic and psychosocial purposes. In general, cosmetic procedures are appropriate after age 18 years (with a few exceptions), whereas the timetable for reconstructive procedures is driven by patient needs and limitations with no legal minimum age.

There is really no minimum or maximum age. Plastic surgery is very individualized.

Newborns get cleft lips repaired and 100-year-olds may need reconstruction from cancer. As far as cosmetic surgery goes, children have their ears pinned back and 80-year-olds are still getting cosmetic surgery. If you are in good health there is no age limit.
