What is the age requirement to get a breast reduction?
I prefer to wait until age 17 to consider a patient for a breast reduction. However, there are exceptions to the rule when the patient is in pain or having emotional problems related to the size of their breasts. There is no age limit that is too old provided the patient is in good health and is a good candidate.

There is no absolute age requirement for breast reduction surgery. However, your growth should be stable prior to surgery. Every individual's development will differ, with some women continuing to develop into their early 20's.
Once stabilized (6 months of no significant changes), I would recommend consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).

There is no specific age. I have done women as young as 16 who have had "gigantic" breasts and as old as the mid 70's.
While the above is a large range, the ideal patient should have already gone through puberty and have given thought about breastfeeding, which one might not be able to do after a breast reduction. Also, the person should be uncomfortable with the size and shape of their breasts.

It is best to wait until the breasts have stopped growing. If not, and if the breasts continue to grow, the patient must undergo a second reduction procedure. If you are overweight, then weight loss may help reduce the size of the breasts.

There really is no age requirement for a breast reduction. However, if you are a minor, we would need the consent of your parents.

Thank you for asking. There is not a fixed age requirement for breast reduction. Each patient is unique. In general, breasts should be stable and done with growth for a sutiable outcome and result. Some patients will need parental permission and consent. See a board-certified plastic surgeon for options. Best wishes!
