I'm interested in vaginal tightening surgery. How long would it take for me to heal?

I'm a diabetic take Humalog and Lantus. I have a very hard time controlling my sugar levels. That's my only health condition. I'm 45.

Elective surgery should not be performed under less than optimal conditions. Since these procedures are ultimately unnecessary, patients should not take any unnecessary risks. The optimal candidate for any procedure is healthy with no significant medical issues. They should have a stable, healthy weight (preferably with a BMI < 30). All patients should obtain medical clearance and basic laboratory work.

With regards to your specific question, vaginal tightening (or any procedure fore that matter) should not be undertaken in the setting of poorly controlled diabetes.

As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
