I have some really saggy love handles because of being pregnant. What are my options?
When discussing body contouring concerns with patients, it is crucial to identity the problem: excess fat, excess skin, or a combination of the two. Different procedures are employed to address different problems. For most patients, this ultimately becomes a question of liposuction vs. excisional procedure (abdominoplasty, etc.). Without reviewing your photos, making a recommendation is difficult.
The saddlebags are an area that is commonly addressed via liposuction. However, the question of candidacy is best answered in person via exam.
I typically recommend that any patient considering either procedure, reach a happy and stable weight in order to ensure the optimal outcome. These interventions are not weight loss procedures and are primarily aimed at shaping and contouring. If you have not reached your goal weight, I would encourage you to delay any procedure.
As always, discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
