Facelift in Houston, Texas (TX)

A facelift is a cosmetic procedure that works to provide a tighter, more youthful appearance to the face. Over time, it's common for patients to suffer from loss of skin rigidity which results in wrinkles, sagging skin and other signs of aging.

Facelifts are distinguished from other types of facial rejuvenation surgeries because they make use of instruments to help stretch out and smooth the muscles and wrinkles. This is in opposition to the use of botox and other paralyzing agents to set those muscles in place. In a facelift, a single incision will be made above the forehead, and small surgical instruments will be used to smooth out wrinkles in the skin and to provide additional support to the muscles of the face, thereby helping to address sagging skin.

Recuperation after a surgery of this type typically takes about three weeks. During this time, the patient must be very careful to avoid excessive motion or pressure and must also regularly check and clean the incision wound. Antibiotics and pain medicines may be provided to address the risk of infection and discomfort, respectively.

If you are interested in the potential benefits of a facelift, consult with a doctor and a plastic surgeon to determine whether it may be a good choice for you.
