Thread Lift to Full Face vs. Thread Lift of Neck

A thread lift, also known as a contour thread lift, is a face lift that requires no surgery, only a needle, local anesthesia and some thread. If you are between the ages of 35 and 60 and have minor signs of jowl, a thread lift can help you look younger.

Thread Lift

A thread lift involves numbing the area to be lifted and the threading of six to 18 sutures to lift bits of the face and neck that tend to sag with age. These areas include the brow area, the cheeks, the neck and the jowls. The sutures are made from polypropylene and have tiny cogs that create suspension and lift the area when they're placed under the skin.

Thread Lift to Full Face

A full face thread lift involves the entire face and neck area and includes the forehead, the cheeks, the upper and lower eyelids, the lips, the jaw and the neck. The area is numbed with a local anesthetic and as many as 18 sutures are used to hold the elevated tissue in place. This helps to eliminate as much wrinkling as possible.

Since it is a minimally invasive procedure, there is no risk of scar formation associated with it. It is cheaper than a traditional face lift and can cost from $10,000 to $35,000.

Thread Lift of the Neck

Thread lift of the neck tightens drooping skin of the neck and chin areas and can cost as much as $5,000.

Thread lifts are completely reversible. If you are not happy with the lift, your surgeon can remove, reposition or replace the threads as required.
