Radiesse Dermal Filler

Put Off the Effects of Age

Getting older can be a scary a prospect, one that most people seek to delay for as long as possible. Even if we can’t turn back the clock and reverse our birthdays, we can at least reduce the wrinkles and folded skin that comes with growing older. Dermal fillers, such as Radiesse, can help with this, revitalizing the skin around the face and nose and giving you a younger, more vibrant face.

How is Radiesse Applied?

Recommended for use by women between 35 and 60, Radiesse is a relatively simple, quick and painless procedure to help make you look younger. The doctor will anesthetize the areas of your face that will receive the Radiesse injection before inserting the needle. The needle injects the Radiesse under your skin, a unique chemical compound that will permanently connect with your natural facial tissue. The entire process takes less than a half an hour, and can drive yourself home the same day.

Quick Recovery with Radiesse

Recovery time for Radiesse treatments is almost nonexistent. Within a day, the minor swelling that accompanies the injections should fade. Minor pain or discomfort can also result from Radiesse treatments, but those two should fade away quickly – if not, medicine can reduce discomfort until it dissipates. While it’s possible to resume normal day-to-day activity immediately, your doctor will warn you to avoid getting excess sun until you’re fully recovered. You’ll see the full results from your Radiesse treatment in about a week.

Cost and Duration of Treatments

Radiesse treatments cost about $700 for each syringe worth of the compound, give or take about $100 – your doctor will be able to give you a more accurate assessment of the cost. Note that some treatments will require multiple syringes for different parts of your face, and you’ll need to pay accordingly. Radiesse treatments last around two years, though you may need occasional touchups before the full duration of the treatment has run its course.

Potential Hazards of Radiesse

Since Radiesse is a relatively minor and non-invasive form of treatment, complications associated with the procedure are highly uncommon. It’s rare, but one problem associated with Radiesse is the appearance of small nodules on the skin. These nodules require a steroid or treatment or even surgery to remove – but again, this issue is very rare. As with any cosmetic procedure, and unusual symptoms that occur after the injections should be reported to your doctor.
