Cost of Rhinoplasty Surgery

Rhinoplasties, or nose jobs, are common procedures that are done for both aesthetic reasons and also to help restore function to a nose that is not working correctly.  While rhinoplasty is a common procedure, the cost of a nose job is dependent on a number of factors.  Your surgeon will discuss all of your options with you and is often able to give you helpful information related to payment plans and financing options.

Total Cost of Rhinoplasty Surgery

Rhinoplasty, including all surgical fees, will cost between three and eight thousand dollars.  Including the surgeon’s fee, you as a patient will also have to pay for the anesthesia fee and the fee for the surgical facility. The surgeon’s fee is almost always the most costly part of the total fee.  Often, in major metropolitan area s, the fees are more expensive than other places.  Also, they are more costly with a very prestigious surgeon.  Remember, you are trusting your health and appearance in the hands of your surgeon; it is important to have a cosmetic surgeon you respect and give you the best results.

Price and Fees of 2nd Nose Job

If your surgery is to repair a previous nose surgery, the cost will often be more than double the cost of the first.  Second surgeries are much more difficult for the surgeon, due to a build-up of scar tissue and the increased skill that is needed to do this kind of operation.   Repeat rhinoplasties have a higher rate of complications and often take longer in the operating room.  Whether the technique your surgeon uses is “opened” or “closed” often impacts the price as well.  Opened or closed refers to the extend and location of the surgical incsisions.

Rhinoplasty that is done to repair a functional defect, such as a deviated septum, will usually be covered at least in part by a person’s insurance company.  If a person’s breathing or overall health is being put in jeopardy by not having the surgery, an insurance company would no longer consider the rhinoplasty to be a cosmetic procedure.

Consult with a Rhinoplasty Plastic Surgeon

If you think that rhinoplasty is right for you, see a local cosmetic surgeon for a consultation.  A licensed professional will be able to discuss prices and payment options, including financing.
