Browlift Procedure Overview

An eyebrow lift is a simple cosmetic surgery that will have you looking young again. This brow lift procedure will remove wrinkles, drooping brows, and sagging skin on the forehead. What it also does is improve the appearance of those horizontal lines from your forehead that can cause you to look sad, angry, or tired. Most people who prefer to have this cosmetic surgery performed are in the age range of 40 to 60, in order to remove the signs of the aging process.

The Procedure

A brow lift surgery will usually last about one to three hours. It is performed in an outpatient basis in most cases. It can be performed by the endoscopic lift method or the open surgery method. In one long, continuous incision, the surgeon will cut from the ear all across the hairline. It is made well behind the hairline so that there will not be a visible scar to worry about. Using the endoscopic lift method, this long incision will not be necessary. Instead, there will be three to five small incisions made along the scalp and an endoscope, a small camera, will be inserted. This allows the surgeon to perform the surgery while looking at the screen instead of directly inside.

The Recovery Period

Following your brow lift surgery, you should be back to your job in about seven to 10 days. If you had the endoscopic lift procedure done, then you will probably be back to work even sooner. You should still stay away from strenuous activity for several weeks. Also, try to stay out of the sun or severe heat for several months.

The Cost of Brow Lift Surgery

The average cost for a brow lift surgery is about $2,500 to $3,000. This is fairly inexpensive as far as plastic surgery goes and it will be a permanent fix.

Possible Risks of a Brow Lift

You have no real need for concern when you have a brow lift procedure performed on you. In some rare instances though, it may be possible that you could suffer from internal bleeding or infection. You could also experience loss of feeling around the incision line. Another possible problem could occur during the endoscopic procedure. If something goes wrong the doctor will have to switch to the classic lift method and you will have a longer recovery time and a more noticeable scar.
