Benelli Lift' Breast Augmentation for Small-Breasted Women

It is sometimes assumed that women with smaller breasts do not have issues with sagging.  Larger-breasted women tend to imagine that sagging is a problem that those with smaller busts are lucky to have escaped.  This, however, is far from the truth—as many small-busted women would agree.

Age, heredity, and weight fluctuations can affect breast tissue in women with small breasts just as it can in women with large breasts.  Fortunately, smaller-breasted women can rely on the Benelli Lift as a less invasive procedure through which to have their sagging problem resolved.

How does the Benelli Lift work?

The surgery lasts about two or three hours and is typically completed under local anesthesia on an outpatient basis.  During the procedure, the surgeon removes skin tissue from around the areola in a doughnut shape through an incision around the areola.  The surgeon may or may not also remove a crescent-shaped piece of tissue from the top of the areola so as to give the breasts additional lift.

After the tissue is removed, the skin is sutured with a ‘purse string’ method—a continuous circular suture around the darker area of the nipple.  Some patients may opt to have breast implants placed before the skin is sutured.  If this is not done, though, the breasts will be pleasantly round, flat, and lifted with very faint scar lines.

What is the recovery period like?

The Benelli Lift—also known as a concentric lift—does not have a long or difficult recovery period.  Patients can typically return to their normal activities and work within a week.  Returning to strenuous activities can occur within a month.

There will, of course, be bruising and swelling as well as discomfort, redness, and possible numbness of the breasts, for at least a week or more following the procedure.  This is common for any type of breast augmentation surgery.

What is the cost of a Benelli Lift?

Costs for this procedure vary widely, depending upon several factors.  Surgeon fees can differ, as can facility fees.  Additionally, each patient is different, and some may want implants, so pricing will not be the same for every person.  Benelli Lift surgeries can cost anywhere from $3,500 to $8,000.

What are the risks of this surgery?

The risks for a Benelli Lift are the same for any breast augmentation surgery.  Although these are not likely to happen, they are possible:

  • Decreased sensation or loss of sensation in the breast
  • Slow healing
  • Loss of nipple tissue
