Buttocks Augmentation

If your rear end is small and flat, it can be embarrassing, especially in front of your significant other. Having an attractive rear end isn’t completely impossible thanks to the plastic surgery procedure known as buttocks augmentation. This operation will give you a buttock contouring that will make your rear end look sleek and shapely. It will give you a physique that is better balanced in proportion to the rest of your body as well. These butt implants will give you a fuller shape and are made out of silicone implants or fat taken from other parts of your body.

The Procedure

You can expect the buttocks augmentation procedure to last about two to three hours, which is actually kind of long for a plastic surgery procedure. Of course, you will be under general anesthesia for the whole thing. During the procedure, the plastic surgeon will place you on your stomach. He or she will make incisions where the buttock and the upper leg meet, or in the crease near the anus. The doctor will then create pockets either above or below the muscle where the fat tissue or implants will be inserted. The procedure is usually done on an outpatient basis.

The Recovery Period

During the recovery period after your buttocks augmentation surgery, it is important to know that you will not be able to sit down for awhile, so you will have to lie down in order to relax. Generally, you will be able to return to work after a period of two weeks. During this time, pain and discomfort will be likely to occur. In order to keep swelling to a minimum, most plastic surgeons will recommend that you keep a compression garment on the area during the recovery process.

The Cost of Buttocks Augmentation Surgery

You can expect to pay about $3,500 to $4,500 to have a buttocks augmentation surgery performed.

The Risks Involved with Buttocks Augmentation

The risks involved with a buttocks augmentation surgery will be very few and unlikely to occur. These risks involve bleeding, infection, nerve damage, and muscle damage. You have a better chance of the incision becoming infected if it is near the rectal area, which is why this method is not usually done. Another risk is that the implants could shift which would make one buttock larger or a different shape from the other.
