Butt/Thigh lift/implant

What is a Butt Lift, Thigh Lift or an Implant?

A butt lift, thigh lift or an implant are cosmetic surgery procedures that enhance the look and shape of your body. Thigh lift surgery is known as thighplasty. This surgery works wonders for people who have dimpled thighs or excess fat deposits in the knees and thighs. These surgical procedures leave you with a more proportionate body. They contour certain areas of the body and help you achieve a firm figure. A butt lift is another cosmetic procedure that leaves you with perky and attractive buttocks. There are two ways in which this procedure can be performed.

Should I get a Butt Lift or an Implant?

If you feel that your derriere is not one of your finest assets, you can change that by undergoing a butt lift or butt augmentation procedure. A butt lift involves the removal of fat cells from certain parts of the body and the reinjection of donor fat cells into the upper quadrant of your butt. This procedure is safer than the insertion of implants because the doctor uses fat from your body and purifies it so that there is less risk of infection.

Butt implants are your second option. This procedure is recommended for those who wish to undergo a butt lift but have no fat in the flank area or the abdomen. Butt implants will leave you with a fuller and more contoured buttock. To perform this procedure, the surgeon will make a small incision in the fold of your buttock and create a cavity in order to insert the silicone implants. The procedure is generally performed under general anesthesia or a combination of local anesthesia and sedation. The procedure lasts for nearly three hours, although this time frame may vary depending on your response to anesthesia.

How is a Butt Lift performed?

The surgeon will remove fat from your body (usually the abdomen area) through liposuction. Once this is done, the fat is purified and injected into your buttocks. Specific areas of the buttocks are targeted so that the fat is easily absorbed. In order for the results to be long lasting (without the need for touch ups), the surgeon will have to use a lot of care and expertise while the injecting the fat back into your buttocks.

You may be able to return back home a few hours after surgery, but you will be told not to sit on your buttocks for almost 21 days. You will also be required to follow up with the surgeon during this period.

How is a Thigh Lift performed?

If you’ve already got a butt lift but feel that your thighs look out of shape, you could ask your surgeon if you’re an ideal candidate for thighplasty. To re-shape your thighs, the surgeon will remove excess fat and skin from the thighs and use sutures to tighten and contour them. This procedure could last a few hours. It may also be necessary for you to take a few essential supplements a few days prior to the surgery so that you don’t suffer from bruising and swelling once the procedure is over.

You will be asked to wear a compression stocking so that the incisions remain intact and your thighs retain their shape post-surgery.

What should I know before getting a Butt/Thigh Lift?

The results of the surgery depend on the experience and skill of the surgeon who works on you. It’s important to look for a board certified cosmetic surgeon, as these surgeons are well trained and knowledgeable about the latest advances in cosmetic surgery. Since the cost of the surgery may not be borne by your insurance provider, you need to find out how much this surgery will cost you, including the cost of post-operative care.

A thigh lift surgery could cost nothing less than $4,700, while a Brazilian butt lift could cost you $16,000. It’s equally important for you to discuss the pros and cons of undergoing these procedures and whether or not the results are permanent in nature.
