Butt Implants

While butt implants aren’t the most common form of plastic surgery, if you are someone that loves to show off your physique at the beach while wearing revealing swimsuits, then this form of buttock contouring may be just what you’ve been looking for. You may also be married to a person that thinks you would benefit from having a shapelier rear end. Whatever the case, this form of plastic surgery will do the trick. Most butt implants are made out of a semi-solid silicone that has the same feel as well toned muscle. These implants will give you a fuller shape and an improved contour.

About the Procedure

If you decide to get butt implants, then you should expect a two hour procedure. Of course, you will be put under general anesthesia during the whole thing. The operation will be performed as either inpatient or outpatient. The surgeon will make an incision where the cheeks meet the thigh, or down the crease between the cheeks. The latter method is usually not performed however as scars are more noticeable and there is a larger risk of infection. A pocket will be created that is large enough to hold the butt implants which can be either above or below the muscle.

The Recovery Period

After you have received the butt implants surgery, you can expect a recovery time of five to seven days. After this time period you should be able to return to work. For other activities it will be about a week as well. You should, however, wait a month before returning to more strenuous activities. During this recovery time, it is likely that you will experience pain, soreness, numbness, swelling, and bruising.

The Cost of Butt Implant Surgery

You should expect to pay roughly $3,500 to $4,500 for butt implants. As far as plastic surgery goes this is about what most operations will cost. Sometimes medical insurance will cover the procedure, but not too often.

Risks of Butt Implant Surgery

Every type of cosmetic surgery has some kind of risk to it. However, butt implants do not pose any more of a risk than is usual. The few risks that could possibly occur include infection, bleeding, nerve damage, muscle damage, slippage, or asymmetry. If you use fat from other parts of your body instead of implants, then this may need to be replaced at some point down the road.
