Body Jet Liposuction

What is Body-Jet?

Body Jet liposuction is a fluid-assisted fat removal technique which offers results similar to traditional liposuction, but without as much trauma and damage to surrounding tissues. The technique uses water to gently loosen fat cells. As a result, there is less bruising and swelling after the procedure is performed, and recovery times are much shorter than with traditional liposuction procedures.

What are the advantages of Body-Jet over other procedures?

The Body Jet method offers a number of advantages over other liposuction procedures, including:

• Greater safety
• Less damage to surrounding tissues
• Less bleeding
• Less bruising
• Less swelling
• Faster recovery
• No need for general anesthesia
• Greater precision

Who is a candidate for Body-Jet?

Generally speaking, any man or woman in good health who has areas of stubborn fat, and who is looking for a procedure which offers great results with minimal downtime, is a good candidate for the Body jet procedure. Certain health conditions, including bleeding disorders and diabetes, may preclude the use of the Body Jet system. You should discuss any health conditions, as well as any medications you’re currently taking, with your specialist prior to undergoing any procedure.

What areas does Body-Jet improve?

Body Jet can effectively remove fat in nearly any area of the body, including:
• The belly
• The hips
• The buttocks
• The thighs
• The arms
• The chin
• The knees
More than one area can be treated during a single session in most cases.

How is the procedure performed?

After the treatment area is numbed with a local anesthetic, a small incision will be made near the treatment area. The Body Jet cannula, or tube, is inserted through the incision and into the treatment zone, directing gentle pulses of fluid to loosen fatty tissue. Once loosened, the cannula is used to suction the fat cells out of the body. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and usually takes from 45 to 60 minutes to complete.

What is the recovery like?

Because the Body Jet technique is gentler than traditional liposuction procedures, most men and women who undergo Body jet treatment are able to resume their regular routines within a few days of the procedure. During recovery, there may be some slight swelling and bruising, as well as some discomfort, which can be treated using over-the-counter medications.

What will my results be like?

Initial visible results will be evident immediately after the procedure, and will improve once residual swelling subsides, and during the weeks that follow your procedure, as your skin conforms to your new contours.

What are the risks?

Swelling and bruising may occur following the procedure, and can be minimized with ice packs. Your specialist can discuss additional risks that you may experience.

Is the Body-Jet procedure approved for use in USA?

Yes, the Body Jet procedure is approved for use in the United States.

Is the Body-Jet procedure covered by insurance companies?

The Body Jet procedure is considered a cosmetic procedure, and usually is not covered by medical insurance companies.

How much does Body-Jet cost?

Generally, the cost of the Body Jet procedure is comparable to the cost of traditional liposuction, and usually ranges form $2,000 to $6,000, depending upon the extent of the treatment.
