Body Implants' Improve Your Muscular Appearance

Sometimes, it doesn’t seem to matter how much you exercise.  You could work out for a couple of hours every single day for months and still not see a difference in some of your muscles.  For whatever reason, some people just cannot build up certain muscles.  However, all is not lost—you can look into getting body implants.

Body implants can improve the appearance of many different muscles. You can get calf, bicep, buttock, or chest implants to give you the look of volume and strength that you desire for your muscles.  The implants are usually made of rubberized silicone that has been FDA-approved, and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Body Implant Procedures

This surgery can be done under either local or general anesthesia at a doctor’s office, surgery center, or hospital.  It is an outpatient procedure that normally takes about two to three hours.  Patients can usually return home several hours after the surgery.

The incision location and size will depend upon the type of implants chosen.  Implants are made to fit in front of the patient’s bones.

Recovery from Body Implants

Recovery time will vary depending upon which implants were chosen. However, recovery itself will be similar.  Patients will experience pain and discomfort for at least several days following the procedure and swelling is likely.

For buttocks implants, patients are instructed to limit activity for several weeks.  The same is true for people who get bicep or tricep implants. However, they will be given special exercises after the first week or so.  As for people with calf implants, they will be encouraged to walk as much as possible so as to avoid the possibility of getting blood clots.

Cost of Body Implants

The cost of body implants will vary depending upon exactly what implants are chosen.  On average, though, you can expect to pay anywhere from $3,500 to $10,000 for your body implants.

Risks of Body Implants

Any medical procedure has complications. The risks with body implants will differ depending upon which implants you choose. However, swelling, bruising, and temporary redness and discoloration are likely with all implant surgeries.  Here are some of the possible risks, though none of these are at all common:

  • Scarring
  • Infection
  • Excessive bleeding or bruising
  • Blood clots
  • Muscle or nerve damage
  • Asymmetry with the implants
  • Uncomfortable firmness of the implants
  • Shifting of the implants

Considering body implant surgery should not be taken lightly. Contact a Plastic Surgeon for a consultation, and find out if you are a candidate.
