Sex Change Operation

A sex change operation is a surgical procedure that is performed to change the appearance of a male into a female or a female into a male. Both gender dysphoria and gender identity disorder can lead to a sex change. In addition, some sex change patients are known to be intersexual. Sex change operations for intersex patients can be done in infancy. There are many different procedures that complete the entire transgender sex change transformation. The central procedure for all sex change operations involves transforming the genitalia. Patients may also choose to have gender specific surgeries to enhance the reassignment experience. Female to male patients usually choose to have a bilateral mastectomy, a chest reconstruction, and a hysterectomy. Male to female patients include chest implants and laser hair removal. At the current time it is not possible for a male to female sex change patient to carry a child to term. New research is proving that this may soon be possible with donated eggs and anti-rejection drugs.
