Sex Change Female To Male

The sex change female to male surgical procedure transforms the female body into one with male characteristics. Successful sex change surgeries result in the patient having the appearance of the opposite gender. Many patients complete the majority of the sex change process but do not follow through with the reassignment of the genitalia. The first procedure for a female to male sex change patient is typically a bilateral mastectomy. This is commonly termed a 'top' surgery. At this time the chest may be given a more masculine appearance. The next major procedure in the female to male sex change process is a hysterectomy. During this surgery the patient's uterus and fallopian tubes will be removed. For many transgender patients the 'bottom' surgery stops with the hysterectomy. For the patients who choose to continue the gender reassignment process the next step involves the reassignment of the genitalia. In this particular type of surgery reassignment is accomplished by enlarging the clitoris with hormones, using skin grafts, or with an erectile prosthetic.
