Sculptra

Sculptra is injectable filler that has recently been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for use as a cosmetic surgery treatment. This unique treatment has only been available to persons suffering from the effects of HIV in the past due to their devastating loss of facial fat. There are many advantages to choosing Sculptra. It targets a wider area than typical injectable fillers which can only work on one specific line or wrinkle. Moreover, Sculptra is a gradual product. The effects of the product develop slowly and do not leave patients with a 'frozen face' common with other fillers. A patient will not receive immediate results but, due to the gradual effects of the product the results will last longer. Side effects of the product are limited. Patients have reported bleeding at the injection site, short term pain, tenderness, swelling, and itching. Cosmetic surgeons applaud Sculptra for its capabilities of treating large facial areas and call it the new standard for injectable fillers.
