Peels
There are two basic categories of peels: laser and chemical. Peels are cosmetic procedures used to rejuvenate the skin by removing older dead skin cells while promoting new collagen growth. Peels in general can be classified as light, medium, and deep referring to the depth of skin removal. Laser skin removal requires the use of laser technology and there are different types of lasers available in the cosmetic procedure market such as the Pearl laser and the fractional laser. Chemical peels use acidic solutions applied to the skin to exfoliate layers. Common chemical peels use glycolic acid, Trichloroacetic acid, or Phenol depending on the depth of the peel desired. There are also herbal peels that use plant based formulas. Peel results are temporary and there will have to be repeat visits to maintain results. Clients achieve varying results through laser and chemical peels.
