Lip Augmentation Facts

Lip augmentation procedures allow people unsatisfied with the size of their thin lips the opportunity to experience life with a fuller, thicker set of lips. Often injectable fillers are used to plump up lips, which is usually a relatively quick and painless procedure. Many types of injectable fillers used to puff up lips are temporary, with the results lasting a few months. Those who want to keep their enlarged pout will then have to continue to periodically repeat the lip augmentation procedure. More permanent types of lip augmentation are also available; for example, lip implants can be inserted in the lips. A common danger with lip augmentation is the dreaded "trout pout," where a person's lips appear overstuffed with fillers.
