Labial Reduction

Labial reduction is a surgical procedure also commonly referred to as labiaplasty. This is a relatively simple procedure which involves the removal of excess labial tissue. Elongated labial tissue may be a result of genetics, or it may be a result of childbirth. Excess labial tissue may be a source of pain and discomfort for some women, especially when engaging in vigorous exercise or sexual activity. Because of this, some women may wish to have the size of their labia reduced in order to relieve their pain and discomfort. Some women undergo this procedure simply to change the appearance of their vagina, though surgery for this reason remains controversial. Many argue that the prevalence of labial reduction in pornography has led everyday women to have unrealistic expectations of what they feel their labia are supposed to look like.
