Cellulite

Cellulite has received a great deal of attention in women's magazines and medical reports in recent years. As the emphasis on beauty and has increased, the concern over "cottage cheese thighs" has matched it. The irony is, cellulite is not a medical or physiological condition at all. It is merely a description of the method by in which muscle, fat, and connective tissue, most often in women, are distributed throughout the lower body. It is a common condition found in 80 to 90% of women and some men. Very little is known about the causes of cellulite, but this dimpling of the skin is often associated with changes in stress levels, metabolism, hormones, and age. There is no known "cure" for cellulite, although many products such as creams, massages, wraps, dietary supplements, laser treatments, and liposuction make that claim. The best treatment is a proper diet and regular exercise.
