Butt Surgery
It has been said that "image is everything," and that certainly is at the root of a current increase in what is very commonly known as butt surgery, or gluteoplasty. There are two types of plastic surgery that fall under this heading, including a "Brazilian butt lift," in which the body is shaped with injections, generally made up of fat from other parts of the body; and "buttocks augmentation," in which an elastomer is implanted through a small incision above the "sitting area." These implants are considered stronger than breast implants and free from leaks. However, there are dangers to this procedure just like any surgery. Some common risks include scarring, blood clots, deep vein thrombosis, cardiac and pulmonary complications, loss of skin sensation, as well as the common risks of anesthesia. However, these issues are rare and most patients with board certified doctors come through the procedure successfully.
