Breast Lift Surgery
Breast Lift Surgery refers to the medical procedure associated with the cosmetic surgery known as mastopexy. Breast Lift Surgery is generally performed with an incision under the breast and incisions around the areola. During a Breast Lift Surgery the excess skin, fat, and tissue under and around the base of the breast and the areola are removed and the remaining skin pulled taught. This is a rather invasive surgical procedure and as a result, a slightly less intense surgery known as a modified breast lift has been developed to gain similar results. While the Breast Lift Surgery is often the procedure of choice for older women, especially those who have had children, it is increasingly being requested by younger women who wish to maintain a more spherical breast. Breast lift surgery can be very complicated because it involves incising near the inframammary fold, a crease at the bottom of the breast often thought to be of great aesthetic value.
