The American Society of Plastic Surgeons states that nearly one-third of all cosmetic surgical procedures in the United States are performed in the region including New Mexico. Last year alone, 556,729 cosmetic surgical procedures were performed in this region. The most popular cosmetic surgery in the New Mexico region is breast augmentation (augmentation mammaplasty), with 128,055 procedures performed last year. Other popular cosmetic procedures that Cosmetic Surgeons in New Mexico perform include liposuction, eyelid surgery, and liposuction. While women in general are more likely to undergo a cosmetic procedure than men, more men in the New Mexico region are getting plastic surgery than any other region in the United States. 30% of all pectoral implants and 27% of all male breast reductions in the United States were done in the regions of New Mexico.
